I always thought my twin boys were the original packrats. One day, while making my way through the trail of their scattered possessions, I realized they come from a long line of collectors. Then I recognized that they inherited the need to carry everything they treasure with them from their Grandma. With a growing family, a home and a husband with a career, I needed to manage the various burdens of life, plus my sneakers and lunch. Suddenly, everywhere I looked, I saw "convenient conveyance" challenges. So, armed with a degree in art, countless years of sewing experience, and inspiration from two kids with bulging pockets, I launched Little Packrats in 1996. Little Packrats celebrates old-fashioned Yankee initiative blended with a Mother's practical application of time management and organizational skills. Applying fashion-forward design to everyday backpacks, lunch boxes and handbags, using non-traditional materials and delivering a handmade product at an affordable price set my company apart from its competition. From the get-go, my accessory collection has combined utility with quality materials, superior craftsmanship and dynamic graphic appeal. All my designs distinguish themselves with bold color and whimsy to give customers a way to stash their things stylishly. I have chosen to work with vinyl for its durability, weather resistance and limitless color range. Earth-friendly customers appreciate that no living creature gives up its life to become lunch luggage. Change is one of life's constants. Change can be good. The changing needs of a growing family are reflected in my product line, which evolves and constantly improves. My business presents new challenges and opportunities everyday. I enjoy turning lemons into lemonade and I love my business because it gives me a way to help others balance the burden of lugging life's stuff around. It may sound philosophical, but it is practical. Plus if I can do anything to make someone else's day a little easier and a lot brighter, than I've really accomplished something that makes my mother and my kid's grandmother proud. Thank you for your interest in my product line. Stop by anytime to see what's new.
